Why Reddit videos download silent (and how we bring the sound back)

Here's the problem that trips up most Reddit downloaders: Reddit doesn't store the video as a single file. It keeps the image on one side and the sound on the other, in two separate tracks (a technical format called DASH). When you share or save a video the normal way, or use a tool that only grabs the image track, the result is a silent clip. How to download a Reddit video on each device

On PC (Windows or Mac)

Open the Reddit post in your browser, copy the URL from the address bar or from the Share → Copy Link button, paste it into the field above, and wait for it to process. Which Reddit videos you can download (and which you can't)

Let's be honest: not everything can be downloaded. Videos from public posts work, which is the vast majority of Reddit's content. What does not work are age-restricted or NSFW videos that require signing in, videos from quarantined or private communities, and anything the author or moderators have already removed. That access is restricted on purpose and can't be bypassed; that's why we never promise to "download any Reddit video," only the ones that are open. Is it safe and legal to download from Reddit?

PullVid installs nothing on your device and doesn't keep the videos after the download: the link is only used to retrieve the file.
