How to download Facebook videos?

1

Open Facebook and find the video you want to download.

2

Tap the three dots (⋯) and select 'Copy link'.

3

Paste the link above and wait for the results.

4

Choose your quality and download the video.

Facebook remains one of the social networks with the highest volume of shared video: saved live streams, news clips, viral videos, entertainment Reels, and content from public pages and groups. However, the platform includes no native button to download any of those videos to your device. PullVid lets you save any public Facebook video as an MP4 file, ready to watch offline.

No sign-up or password required: copy the Facebook video link, paste it into PullVid, and choose your quality. Compatible with facebook.com, m.facebook.com, and shortened fb.watch links. If you also want to download content from other platforms, try the Instagram downloader or the YouTube downloader.

How to download Facebook videos on every device

On PC (Windows)

Open the Facebook video in your browser, click the three dots (⋯) on the post, and select Copy link. Paste the URL into the field above and wait for PullVid to process the video. Choose your quality and click Download — the MP4 saves to your Downloads folder.

On Mac

The process is identical in Safari or Chrome on macOS. The downloaded MP4 plays directly in QuickTime and is compatible with any macOS video editor, with no additional codecs needed.

On Android

Open the video in the Facebook app, tap the three dots (⋯) on the post, and select Copy link. Then open Chrome, navigate to PullVid, and paste the link. The video downloads directly to your Android device's Downloads folder.

On iPhone

In the Facebook app, tap the three dots (⋯) on the video and choose Copy link. Open Safari, go to PullVid, and paste the link. On iOS, the MP4 saves to the Files app — from there you can move it to Photos or share it with anyone.

Video quality and formats on Facebook

Facebook accepts videos up to 1080p Full HD on upload, though it recompresses content depending on the video type and viewer connection. The available qualities when downloading depend on what Facebook offers for that specific video:

  • 1080p (Full HD): available on recent videos and high-quality Reels; maximum sharpness for large screens.
  • 720p (HD): the most common resolution for standard Facebook videos; an optimal balance between quality and file size.
  • 480p and 360p: found on older videos, saved live streams, or content uploaded from slow connections.

Facebook does not support resolutions above 1080p, unlike YouTube which goes up to 4K. If you need the highest possible quality, the YouTube 4K downloader is your best option.

Is it safe and legal to download Facebook videos?

PullVid installs no software on your device and does not keep videos on the server once the download is complete. The link you enter is used exclusively to retrieve the file from Facebook's servers — we do not access your account or any personal information.

Only videos from public posts, public pages, and open groups can be downloaded. Content with restricted privacy is not accessible. Saving a Facebook video for personal and private use — watching it offline or keeping a copy — is common practice, tolerated in most European countries. What is not permitted is posting that video somewhere else, redistributing it, or using it commercially without the original author's permission.

Common use cases

  • Save a live stream of an event, conference, or match before the author deletes it.
  • Keep a family or group video shared on Facebook that might disappear.
  • Download videos from news or entertainment pages to watch in areas without coverage.
  • Archive Facebook Reels from creators you follow as a personal backup.

Want to also download Reels or videos from Instagram? The Instagram downloader works exactly the same way and is just as fast.

Frequently asked questions about Facebook

Can Facebook videos be downloaded?+

Yes. PullVid downloads public Facebook videos in HD. Copy the video link from the three dots (⋯) → Copy link and paste it into PullVid to get the file in seconds.

Does it work with Facebook Reels?+

Yes. Facebook Reels download the same way as any other video: copy the Reel link and paste it into PullVid. You receive the MP4 at the highest quality available.

What about private videos or closed groups?+

Only videos from public posts, public pages, and open groups work. Videos with restricted privacy, from closed groups, or from private profiles are not accessible without authentication.

Does it work with fb.watch and m.facebook.com links?+

Yes. PullVid is compatible with all Facebook link formats: facebook.com, m.facebook.com (mobile version), and the shortened fb.watch links. Paste the link exactly as you copied it.

Is it free to download Facebook videos?+

Yes, completely free and no sign-up required. No limits on how many videos you download.

What quality can I download Facebook videos in?+

PullVid downloads at the highest quality Facebook offers for that post — generally 1080p Full HD, 720p HD, or lower resolutions depending on the resolution the video was originally uploaded at.

How do I download Facebook videos on Android?+

Open the video in the Facebook app, tap the three dots (⋯), and choose "Copy link". Then open Chrome, go to PullVid, and paste the link. The MP4 file saves to your phone's Downloads folder.

Can I download Facebook videos on iPhone?+

Yes. Copy the video link in the Facebook app with the three dots (⋯) → Copy link. Open Safari, go to PullVid, and paste the link. The video lands in the Files app, from where you can save it to Photos.

Is it safe and legal to download Facebook videos?+

PullVid installs nothing on your device and does not keep your videos after the download. Only public content can be downloaded. Saving a Facebook video for personal and private use is common practice; publishing it, redistributing it, or using it commercially without the author's permission is not allowed and may infringe copyright.

What should I do if the Facebook link doesn't work?+

Check that the link belongs to a public post and that the video has not been deleted. Make sure you copy the complete video link (not the profile post link). If the link is from a group, verify it is an open group. You can also open the video in a browser and copy the URL directly from the address bar.

Can I download a Facebook video to watch offline?+

Yes. The MP4 you get from PullVid is stored on your device and you can play it anytime without an internet connection, using any video player. For more tips on managing offline videos, see our guide to offline video viewing.

Can I download a Facebook video from a link someone sent me?+

Yes. If someone shared a Facebook video link via WhatsApp or Telegram, paste it directly into PullVid. It only works with content from public accounts or pages. To learn more about getting the right link, see our guide to downloading from a link.

How do I share a downloaded Facebook video via WhatsApp?+

Download the MP4 with PullVid, save it to your gallery or Downloads folder, and attach it in WhatsApp as a regular video. WhatsApp compresses videos when sending; our WhatsApp video guide explains how to send at the best quality possible.
