How to Download Facebook Videos on Mobile (Android and iPhone)

To download a Facebook video on your phone, open the video in the app, tap Share → Copy link, paste that link into PullVid's Facebook downloader, and tap download. You get an MP4 straight to your phone, with no app to install and no login. The process is nearly identical on Android and iPhone; this guide walks through each step and where the file ends up on each one.

It only works with public videos. If you get stuck grabbing the URL, see how to copy a Facebook link; and for the general step-by-step, there's how to download Facebook videos.

Download a Facebook video on Android step by step

  1. Open the video in the Facebook app (or on the website in Chrome).
  2. Tap Share and choose Copy link. If you don't see "Copy link," tap the video's three dots (⋯).
  3. Open Chrome, go to PullVid, and paste the link into the search field (press and hold → Paste).
  4. Tap Download and choose the available quality (HD or SD).
  5. The MP4 saves to the Downloads folder; you'll find it in the "Files" or "My Files" app, and from there you move it to your gallery.

Facebook uses several link formats (facebook.com/watch, fb.watch/..., Reels links): they all work, so paste whichever one the app gives you when you share.

Download from Facebook on iPhone (iOS) step by step

On iPhone the flow is the same, except iOS saves the video to the Files app first, and from there you move it into Photos.

  1. Open the video, tap Share → Copy link (or ).
  2. Open Safari (or Chrome), go to PullVid, and paste the link by pressing and holding → Paste.
  3. Tap Download and choose HD if it's available.
  4. The MP4 shows up in the Files app, Downloads folder. To get it into your camera roll, press and hold the file and choose Save to Photos.

Facebook Reels and live videos

The same flow works for Facebook Reels: copy their link and paste it; we go deeper in download Facebook Reels. For live broadcasts, they can only be downloaded once the stream has ended and stays posted as a video; we cover this in download a Facebook live.

Common problems on mobile

  • "Couldn't process": almost always a private video, one from a closed group, or a deleted one. Review the causes in why I can't download a Facebook video.
  • It's a private video: it can't be downloaded with an external tool; only public ones (more here). If the video is yours, Facebook lets you download it from its settings.
  • I can't find the video on iPhone: it's in Files → Downloads, not in Photos. Move it with "Save to Photos."
  • It only lets me download in SD: some Facebook videos only exist in low resolution; we explain it in download a Facebook video in HD.

For general tips on downloading from your phone, there's download videos on mobile without apps, on iPhone, and on Android.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install an app to download Facebook on mobile?

No. PullVid works from your phone's browser. You copy the video link with Share → Copy link, paste it, and download the MP4. There's nothing to install and no login.

Can I download a private Facebook video from my phone?

Not with an external tool: videos from profiles or closed groups aren't public. If the video is yours, Facebook itself lets you download it from its settings.

Why doesn't the video show up in Photos on iPhone?

iOS saves downloads from any website to the Files app, Downloads folder. To get it into your gallery, press and hold the file and choose Save to Photos.

Does it work with fb.watch links and Facebook Reels?

Yes. PullVid accepts facebook.com/watch links, short fb.watch ones, and Reels links. Paste whichever one the app gives you when you share.

Can I download a Facebook live from my phone?

Only once the live has ended and stays saved as a posted video. While it's still broadcasting live, it can't be downloaded.
