How to copy the link in YouTube Music
In the mobile app, open the song or album, tap the three dots or the Share button and choose Copy link. On a computer, the address in your browser bar works too. Then come back here and paste it into the box above.
YouTube Music to MP3 or M4A? The quality you really get
It helps to know where the sound comes from: YouTube stores the audio for most songs at about 128-160 kbps, in AAC or Opus. That's the ceiling, however you download it.
- M4A (“Audio only”): YouTube's audio as-is, with no re-compression. It's the most faithful option and the smallest file for the same quality.
- MP3: re-encoded from that same audio. It won't sound better than the original, but it plays anywhere, from your car to an old speaker.

Downloading a full album or playlist
Paste the album or playlist link and you'll see every song by title. Tap MP3 on the ones you want: they download one at a time, so your browser doesn't block several downloads in a row.
Two things to keep in mind. Each song counts as one download, and the free plan has a daily fair-use cap that a long album can use up (Premium has no daily cap). Is your music on Spotify or SoundCloud?
Spotify protects its audio with DRM, so it can't be downloaded directly: with the Spotify downloader you paste its link and we find the same song on YouTube. SoundCloud tracks, on the other hand, can be downloaded straight from SoundCloud's own servers with the SoundCloud to MP3 downloader.
Personal use and copyright
Downloading music to listen to yourself is common; redistributing it, re-uploading it to another platform or using it in your videos without permission is not. Yes. All three kinds of YouTube Music link work: a song, an album and a playlist. Copy the link from the Share button in the app or on the website and paste it as-is.

Why won't a song download?
It's almost always down to the song, not the link: it's blocked in some countries, it's been taken down, or it's private. If YouTube won't play it without signing in, we can't reach it either.
What if the song is on Spotify?
