Download Reddit videos on mobile (Android and iPhone)

Saving a Reddit video on mobile is easier than it looks, and you don't need to install any app. Everything happens in the browser you already have, on both Android and iPhone, and the video downloads with sound. Why you don't need an app on mobile

App stores are full of apps for downloading from Reddit, but almost all of them take up space, ask for broad permissions, and fill up with full-screen ads. You don't need them: your mobile browser is enough to paste the link and download the MP4. Copying the link from the Reddit app

The easiest way on mobile is to grab the link from the Reddit app itself. Open the post with the video, tap the Share button (the arrow icon), and choose Copy Link. That copies the post's URL to your clipboard, ready to paste. If you'd rather use your mobile browser, open the post and copy the URL from the address bar (it starts with reddit.com/ or redd.it/).

Downloading a Reddit video on Android

1. In the Reddit app, open the post and tap Share → Copy Link.
2. Open Chrome (or whichever browser you use) and go to PullVid; paste the link into the search field.
3. Choose whichever quality you want among the ones available, up to 1080p if the original video has it.
4. Tap Download. The MP4, already with sound, saves to your Downloads folder; to move it to your gallery, long-press the file and choose Move to.

Downloading a Reddit video on iPhone

1. In the Reddit app, open the post and tap Share → Copy Link.
2. Open Safari, go to PullVid, and paste the link into the search field.
3. Choose the quality and tap Download; tap the downloads icon (the arrow) in Safari's toolbar to see the progress.
4. When it's done, the video shows up in the Files app; from there you can long-press it and choose Save to Photos to have it in your camera roll.

The video downloads with sound

Reddit stores every video in two separate tracks — image and audio — using a system called DASH. That's why, when you save it on your own or with tools that only grab the image, the clip comes out silent. If the original video had no audio to begin with (many GIFs and memes are uploaded with no sound), the result will be silent simply because there was no track to merge.

If something doesn't work on mobile

Remember that you can only download videos from public posts. NSFW or age-restricted ones that require signing in, videos from private or quarantined communities, and ones that have already been deleted aren't accessible from mobile or from anywhere else.
