What's a TS file, and why convert it?

How it works: remux when possible, re-encoding when not
We use ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. If the TS already carries H.264 video and AAC audio — the norm for current IPTV and HLS recordings — the converter does an instant remux ('-c copy'): it copies the same data into an MP4 container without re-encoding. If the file uses a different codec, the converter re-encodes the whole video, a slower process that depends on the file's length.
