FreeConvert Not Working: Causes and What to Do
FreeConvert is a cloud service: you upload the file, it's processed on their machines, and you get a download link. Convenient when it works — and when it doesn't, it nearly always breaks in the same place: the file's journey, not the conversion.
Your video uploads in full before anything starts
This is the part worth being clear about: until your file is completely on their server, nothing happens. If the video weighs hundreds of megabytes, that's minutes of uploading over your connection, and during those minutes it's your network in charge, not theirs.

The most common causes
- The upload drops. You close the tab, the phone turns the screen off, the network hiccups. The process dies and you start from zero.
- Size ceiling on the free tier. Every free service caps it; if your video is over, retrying won't help.
- A queue. The machines are shared. At peak times you wait.
- The link expires. Results are kept for a limited time. Come back later and it may be gone.
- The browser gets in the way. Blockers and extensions can break the upload or the download, and the error you see explains nothing.
What to do

Why does FreeConvert get stuck uploading?
Because the upload depends on your connection and on the tab staying alive. On a big video that's several minutes, and the phone switching its screen off or the network blinking is enough to cut it. It isn't a fault in the service: it's the fragile point of working in the cloud.
What's the free size limit?
Every service sets its own and keeps changing it, so the number you read today may not hold tomorrow. What's structural is that a limit exists, because every file costs them disk and bandwidth. Compressing locally, nobody imposes a ceiling.
The download link doesn't work any more
Results are kept for a limited time and then deleted. That's the right call for privacy, but it means that if you come back later you'll have to repeat the whole process, upload included.
Is it safe to upload my videos there?
