How to Download a Video in 2K (1440p)
2K (1440p) is the middle resolution between Full HD (1080p) and 4K (2160p): sharper than 1080p but much lighter than 4K. To download a video in 2K, paste the link into the video downloader, find the 1440p resolution in the list of options, and download it. It only appears if the original video was uploaded in that quality or higher; if not, the maximum available will be lower.
What is 2K and how does it differ from 1080p and 4K?
1440p is popularly called "2K" and offers 2560×1440 pixels. Compared to 1080p (1920×1080) it gains quite a bit of detail, and compared to 4K (3840×2160) it weighs about half, so it's a sweet spot: good sharpness without huge files. It's especially useful on laptop screens and 1440p monitors, where it looks perfect without spending what 4K spends. If you want to go deeper, there's which resolution to choose when downloading.
How to download in 1440p step by step
- Copy the link to the video (for example, from YouTube, which offers 1440p on many videos).
- Paste it into PullVid's video downloader.
- Look for 1440p in the list of formats. If the video was uploaded in 2K or higher, it will appear.
- Tap Download. You get the MP4 in 2K with its audio.
The 2K option doesn't appear?
If you don't see 1440p in the list, it's because the original video isn't available in that resolution: you can only download up to the maximum quality the creator uploaded. It's not a PullVid limit, and forcing a higher resolution with any trick only "stretches" the image and makes it worse. In that case, choose the highest resolution that does appear. It's the same principle we explain in does downloading a video lose quality.
2K, 4K, or 1080p: which to choose
- 1080p (Full HD): enough for mobile and for sharing; the lightest of the three.
- 1440p (2K): the ideal balance for monitors and laptops; more sharpness than 1080p, half the weight of 4K.
- 4K (2160p): maximum detail for large screens; very heavy files. We cover it in how to download videos in 4K.
Frequently asked questions
What is 2K and how does it differ from 4K?
2K (1440p, 2560×1440) is the resolution between Full HD and 4K. Compared to 1080p it gains sharpness, and compared to 4K (3840×2160) it weighs about half. It's a good balance between quality and file size.
How do I download a video in 1440p?
Paste the link into PullVid's downloader and look for 1440p in the list of formats. If the original video is available in 2K or higher, that option will appear; choose it and download the MP4.
Why doesn't the 2K option appear for me?
Because the original video isn't available in 1440p: you can only download up to the maximum resolution the creator uploaded. It's not a PullVid limit. Forcing a higher resolution only stretches the image and makes it worse.
Is it better to download in 2K or 4K?
It depends on your screen. For monitors and laptops, 2K looks perfect and takes up half of what 4K does. 4K only pays off on large, high-resolution screens, in exchange for very heavy files.
