Download Reddit videos on PC (Windows and Mac)

Downloading a Reddit video on your computer has its advantages: a big screen to pick the quality at your own pace, and full control over the folder where the file gets saved. Everything from the browser, nothing to install

On PC you don't need download managers or desktop programs for a one-off Reddit video. The browser you already use — Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari — is enough: you paste the link, the server processes the video, and you download the MP4. It's the cleanest method, because it doesn't touch your system or ask for permissions. If you're looking to save lots of videos in bulk automatically, that's when a command-line tool makes sense, but for regular downloads the browser wins.

Copying the link on your computer

On PC the most direct way is to copy the URL from the browser's address bar when you have the post open (it starts with reddit.com/). You can also right-click on the post or the Share button and choose Copy Link. Either method works: what you need is the URL of the specific post with the video, not the community's or a comment's.

How to download a Reddit video on Windows or Mac

1. Open the Reddit post in your browser and copy the URL from the address bar (or right-click → Copy Link).
2. Go to PullVid and paste the link into the search field; you can also drag the link straight into the field.
3. Wait for the formats to load and choose the resolution you want, up to 1080p if the original video has it.
4. Tap Download. The MP4, already with sound, saves to your Downloads folder; if your browser asks where to save it, choose whichever folder you prefer.

Choosing where the file gets saved

One advantage of PC is control over the file's location. If your browser is set to ask where to save each download (in Chrome: Settings → Downloads → "Ask where to save each file"), you'll be able to pick the folder on the fly. If not, the MP4 will go to the default Downloads folder, on both Windows and Mac. From there you can move it, rename it, or open it with your usual player.

The video downloads with sound

Reddit stores video and audio in separate tracks via DASH, and that's why so many methods produce a silent clip: they only capture the image. What you can't download

The same rules apply on PC as on mobile: only public posts work. NSFW or age-restricted videos that require login, videos from private or quarantined communities, and ones that have already been deleted aren't accessible.
