How to Copy an X (Twitter) Video Link
To copy a video link on X (formerly Twitter), tap the Share icon (the arrow) on the tweet, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the URL from the address bar. With that link you can paste it into a downloader like PullVid and save the video.
What do you need the link for?
The link is the unique address of every tweet on X. Copying it is the first step to downloading its video or GIF onto your device, sharing it on WhatsApp or sending it to someone outside the app. To save a tweet's video you need to paste its link into a downloader; without the URL there is no way to process the video.
Copy the link in the X app (Android and iPhone)
The steps are the same on Android and iPhone:
- Open the X app and find the tweet with the video or GIF you want to save.
- Tap the Share icon (the arrow coming out of a box) below the tweet.
- In the menu that appears, tap Copy link.
- You'll see a 'Copied to clipboard' notice. The URL is now ready to paste.
X generates a link with the x.com domain (older twitter.com links still work). Sometimes you'll see a short t.co link; that's valid too.
Copy an X link in the browser (PC or Mac)
If you're viewing the tweet on x.com from a computer:
- From the address bar: click the tweet's date to open it on its own page, then click the address bar, select the whole URL and copy it with Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on Mac).
- With the Share icon: click the Share icon on the tweet and choose Copy link.
How to use the link to download the video
Once the link is copied, saving the video takes seconds with the X (Twitter) downloader:
- Open PullVid in your phone's or computer's browser.
- Paste the link into the search field (long-press and choose Paste, or use Ctrl+V).
- Wait a few seconds for the video to be processed.
- Choose the quality and tap Download.
You don't need to install anything or sign up, and you won't see banners or fake download buttons.
Common problems when copying the link
- You copied the profile link, not the tweet: copying from an account's page gives you its profile link. Open the specific tweet first (tap its date) and copy from there.
- Shortened link (t.co): this is the format X generates when sharing and it works fine; you don't need to convert it to the long URL.
- It says 'invalid link': this is usually because the URL is incomplete or the tweet belongs to a protected account. Copy it again with Share → Copy link and, if it still fails, see why you can't download a video.
Frequently asked questions
Why does it say my X (Twitter) link is invalid?
Usually because the URL is incomplete or the tweet belongs to a protected account. Copy it again with the Share → Copy link icon to make sure you have the full address.
Does the x.com link or the short t.co link work?
Yes. Both the x.com link (and older twitter.com links) and the short t.co link the app generates work perfectly in PullVid. You don't need to convert them.
Can I copy the link to a video from a protected account?
You can copy the link, but a video from a protected account can't be downloaded even if you have its URL, because it requires permission to view. Only public tweets work.
Is the profile link the same as the tweet link?
No. The profile link goes to the account's page; the tweet link goes to that specific tweet. To download you need the tweet link: open it first (tap its date) and copy from there.
