How to Download X (Twitter) Videos on Mobile (Android and iPhone)

June 29, 20266 min read

To download a video from X (formerly Twitter) on your phone, open the tweet in the X app, tap Share → Copy link, paste that link into PullVid's X (Twitter) downloader, and hit download. It works the same way on Android and iPhone, straight from your browser, with no app to install. This guide walks through every step and the small differences between Android and iOS.

If you're not yet sure how to get the tweet's URL, first take a look at how to copy an X video link. And for the bigger picture on X videos and GIFs, see the guide to downloading X (Twitter) videos and GIFs.

Download an X video on Android, step by step

On Android the whole process happens in the browser (Chrome or another). There's nothing to install:

  1. Open the tweet in the X app with the video or GIF you want to save. Check that the account is public.
  2. Tap the Share icon (the arrow coming out of a box) below the tweet and choose Copy link. You'll see the 'Copied to clipboard' notice.
  3. Open Chrome, go to PullVid, and paste the link into the search field (long-press → Paste).
  4. Choose the quality (for example 720p or 1080p if available) and tap Download.
  5. The MP4 file is saved to your phone's Downloads folder. You'll find it in the 'Files' or 'My Files' app, and from there you can move it to your gallery.

On some Android phones, Chrome asks 'Download file?' before saving: confirm and you're done. If your browser blocks the download, try opening PullVid in a normal tab (not a restricted incognito mode).

Download an X video on iPhone (iOS), step by step

On iPhone the flow is almost identical, with one difference: iOS first saves the video in the Files app, and from there you move it to Photos.

  1. Open the tweet in the X app, tap Share → Copy link.
  2. Open Safari (or Chrome), go to PullVid, and paste the link by tapping and holding in the search field → Paste.
  3. Choose the quality and tap Download. Safari shows the download notice at the top right (the arrow icon).
  4. The MP4 appears in the Files app, in the Downloads folder. To get it into your camera roll, long-press the file and choose Save to Photos (or open it and use the Share button → Save Video).

This trip through the Files app isn't a PullVid bug: it's how iOS handles downloads from any website. Once it's in Photos, the video sits in your gallery like any other recording.

If you use X in your mobile browser (without the app)

If you view tweets directly on x.com in the browser instead of in the app, you don't need the Share button: copy the URL from the address bar of the open tweet and paste it into PullVid. Both x.com and older twitter.com links work, and so does the short t.co link the app sometimes generates.

I only want the audio or the GIF

If you only need the audio track instead of the video (an interview, a music clip), use the X to MP3 converter: the flow on mobile is the same — you paste the link and choose MP3. And remember that GIFs on X are really silent MP4 files, so they download exactly like a video.

Common problems on mobile

  • 'Couldn't process the video': almost always a protected account or a deleted tweet. Check that the tweet is public; more details in why you can't download an X video.
  • You copied the profile link, not the tweet: open the specific tweet first (tap its date or time) and copy from there.
  • On iPhone I can't find the downloaded video: it's in the Files app → Downloads, not directly in Photos. Move it with 'Save to Photos'.
  • It won't let me paste: long-press inside the search field until the Paste button appears; if you copied the link correctly, it will show up.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install an app to download X videos on my phone?

No. PullVid works from your mobile browser (Chrome, Safari, or another). You just copy the tweet link, paste it, and download. Nothing to install, no sign-up.

Why doesn't the video show up in Photos on my iPhone?

iOS saves downloads from any website to the Files app, in the Downloads folder. To get it into your gallery, long-press the file and choose Save to Photos, or open it and use Share → Save Video.

Does it work the same on Android and iPhone?

Yes, the process is the same: copy the link in the X app and paste it into PullVid. The only difference is where the file is saved: on Android it goes to the Downloads folder; on iPhone, to the Files app, from where you move it to Photos.

Can I download an X GIF on my phone?

Yes. GIFs on X are silent MP4 files, so they download just like a video: copy the tweet link and paste it into PullVid. You get an MP4 you can share or convert to .gif if you need to.
