Download your own TikToks before deleting your account
Deleting a TikTok account is irreversible once the deactivation window has passed: after a few days, the app permanently removes the profile and all its content. If that account has videos of yours that you don't have saved anywhere else, they're gone for good. Before taking that step — or simply before uninstalling the app for a while — it's worth spending a few minutes downloading your own archive.
Why download them before, not after
TikTok gives you roughly a 30-day window after requesting account deletion, during which you can cancel the process and regain access. But once that window closes, or if you uninstall the app and lose access to the account for another reason (forgotten password, failed verification, suspension), there's no way to recover the videos. The only real guarantee is having the file saved on your own device before that happens.
Why without the watermark
The download button inside the TikTok app adds the platform's logo and your username on top of the video. To keep the file the way you originally uploaded it — without that overlay — use PullVid's TikTok downloader without watermark: since the video is yours, you have every right to save it in its clean version for your own archive, with no restrictions.
How to download all your TikToks step by step
- Open your TikTok profile and go to the posted videos tab.
- Tap the first video you want to save and press Share → Copy link.
- Paste the link into PullVid's TikTok downloader without watermark.
- Download the file and save it in a dedicated folder, for example "My TikToks."
- Repeat for every video on your profile before deleting the account or uninstalling the app.
If you have a lot of videos
TikTok doesn't offer a one-click bulk download of your whole profile from outside the app, so the process is video by video. To make sure you don't miss any, scroll through your profile top to bottom, copying each link in the same order they appear; that way you avoid skipping posts or downloading the same one twice. If you have hundreds of videos, prioritize saved live streams and your oldest content first, since that's the least likely to already be in your gallery.
What to do with the videos once downloaded
Once downloaded, save them in two places: a local folder on your device and a copy in the cloud (Google Drive, iCloud or similar), in case the device gets lost or breaks. Organize them by date if you have a lot, so you can find a specific video later. If you also want the sound separately from some of them — for example, to reuse it — you can extract the audio with the TikTok to MP3 converter.
Before deleting the account for good
Also check that you don't have videos saved as drafts inside the app (those can't be downloaded from outside; do it from within TikTok itself before continuing), and make sure you've also downloaded any video where you appear as a collaboration or duet, if you want to keep it. Once you have the full archive, you can start the deletion process from Settings → Manage account → Delete account with peace of mind, knowing your content is safe outside the platform.
For the rest of your content on other networks, the general guide on how to back up your videos covers YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X with the same approach.
Frequently asked questions
Can I recover my videos if I already deleted my TikTok account?
Only within the roughly 30-day deactivation window, by reactivating the account before it's permanently deleted. After that window, there's no way to recover the content if you don't have your own copy saved.
Why download them without the watermark if they're my own videos?
Because the app's download button adds the TikTok logo and your username on top of the image. Since it's your content, you have every right to keep it in its clean version, exactly as you recorded it, for your own archive.
Is there a way to download all my TikToks at once?
TikTok doesn't offer a bulk download from outside the app in a single step; the process is video by video. Scroll through your profile top to bottom, copying each link so you don't skip any.
What happens to videos saved as drafts?
Unpublished drafts can't be downloaded from outside the app: you have to publish them or export them manually from within TikTok before deleting the account.
Can I do this if I'm only uninstalling the app, not deleting the account?
Yes, and it's a good idea either way: if you lose access to the account later (password, verification, suspension), already having the file downloaded saves you that risk.
